It was very High-Fantasy and that came across nicely. I think she was a great DM. I was a bit overwhelmed with the dice-rolling and all the combat details related to 3.5 and at times felt that the game dragged a bit at those points, but there were some good battles. Overall I enjoyed our sessions even though, at times, our destinations were pre-determined. It was a great gaming group and I got to play with the Level 1 Gamer! I've not read one so recent and it's great to see these Guilds and associations work. I'm starting my own local club so hopefully I'll bring in some new blood of my own! It is a very creative process and a lot of people go into a lot detail about their character's background. That's one of the reasons I like the hobby so much. As a DM and as a player, D&D and RPGs in general are a great creative outlet. My husband loves D&D, and the first chance we get he's going to start a new campaign and teach me how to play. I am very excited. He and his friends have been playing for years, so I hope to learn a lot from them. I think (because I'm a self-proclaimed writer) I'll enjoy the character generation and development aspect of it the most, but the battle scenarios and discovering a world through a DM's narration sound exciting, too.
